Mercy Wanjiru Mwangi

Mercy is the last born child in a family of 5. She graduated from primary school in 2021 and scored 321 marks out of the possible 500. She got placement at St. Maria Veronica girls Secondary school. Currently she is in form two and risks dropping out due to financial constraints in her family. Mercy’s father who is an alcoholic cannot support the family in any way. The mother is a subsistence farmer. Empower the World has now taken the responsibility of paying her school fees.

Lucy Nyambura Kuria

Meet Lucy Nyambura Kuria, 20 years old, she is the eldest in a family of 6. Her parents are unemployed and the family faces financial difficulties. Lucy has hearing impairment and with this she attended Ngala School for the deaf for her primary and secondary education. Due to financial challenges it was difficult to raise money for not only school fees but also general basic needs. Currently Lucy is taking a

Diploma in Catering and Accommodation Management. Her dream is to join Kenya Technical Trainers College so that she can later be able to train People suffering with deafness. Empower the world has given her this opportunity in the scholarship program and will support her dream of being an instructor.

Erick Leboo Mbiombo

Meet Erick, the fourth-born in a family of five. Born into a single-parent family, Erick's mother, a dedicated and hardworking woman, supports her children through various menial jobs, such as cleaning people's laundry. Erick and his family currently reside in a house provided by a well-wisher. Their living situation underscores the stark reality that they do not own any property of their own.

Despite the financial constraints and limited resources, Erick's academic potential shone brightly when he scored an impressive 340 marks out of a possible 500 in his KCPE exam. This remarkable achievement highlighted his dedication to education and his unwavering commitment to a brighter future. Empower the World Foundation has extended a scholarship opportunity to him. This scholarship will enable Erick to pursue his education at Olkiriaine Secondary School, providing him with the chance to further develop his talents and unlock his full potential.

Derrick Munene

Meet Derrick, 20 years of age, born in a family of two. He attended Nakuru Primary school but unfortunately he did not manage to finish his secondary school due to financial constraints and is currently doing an Artisan course in Catering and Accommodation. He was rescued from the streets after dropping out of school. He is accommodated at the Vocational Training Center.

His father, who struggles with alcoholism, works as a hawker in Nakuru. Their mother abandoned them when they were young and they grew up with the support of the well-wishers and relentless effort and determination from their father in providing a decent life for his children. Derrick risked dropping out of school due to financial constraints. Empower the World Foundation through the sponsorship programs has supported Derrick ensuring that he does not dropout of school. He hopes to complete school early next year.

Jacob Mbandu Munyendo

Meet Jacob, the eldest of three. He scored 312 marks out the possible 500 in KCPE. He is been raised with a single mother after his father, how worked as a driver of the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, passed on due to a tragic car accident. Jacob has benefited from Empower the World Foundation scholarship program. He has now joined St. Joseph’s Minor seminary. He hopes to be a priest in the future.

Moses Wachira Wamahiou

Meet Moses, the eldest of two siblings. While attending Kinungi Primary School, he tragically lost his mother at a crucial period when he was preparing for his KCPE exams. Despite this profound loss, he managed to achieve a noteworthy score of 339 marks out of a possible 500. His dedication to his studies has opened doors to a brighter future, as he has been granted a scholarship through Empower the World Foundation to study at Archbishop Ndingi Boys School.

Naomi Resian Salash

Meet Naomi, the eldest of five siblings. She resides with her parents, who are not employed, in their rural home. They rely on menial jobs to make ends meet. story even more inspiring is the unwavering support of her father, a man who never had the opportunity to attend school himself.Despite his lack of formal education, he understands the profound value of learning and education. This commitment to his daughter's education sets him apart, especially in a community where education for girls is not always prioritized. Through the Empower the World Foundation sponsorship program, Naomi is now a proud student at Maai Mahiu Girls' School. This opportunity not only offers her access to quality education but also represents a beacon of hope for other young girls in her community, demonstrating that dreams can be realized through education.
